What the widget shows

The widget shows the current temperature and sky in Funchal and on Pico do Arieiro, the sea temperature and wave height off Funchal, the time of the next sunrise at Pico do Arieiro and any official weather warning for Madeira's north coast, south coast, mountains or Porto Santo. How to add it to your website

Pick the language and the light or dark theme above, press the copy button and paste the code where you want the widget to appear. In WordPress, use a Custom HTML block; in Wix, an Embed code element; in Squarespace, a Code block; on a hand-written site, paste it straight into the HTML.

The widget is an iframe, so it cannot break your page or clash with your styles. It only works on websites you control: platforms such as Booking.com or Airbnb do not allow embedded code in listings.

Free, with one small condition

You can use the widget on any website, commercial or not, at no cost. We only ask you to keep the short credit link that comes with the code. The widget sets no cookies, shows no ads and does not track your visitors, so it does not need to appear in your cookie banner.

Where the data comes from

Warnings and sea conditions come from IPMA, Portugal's official weather service; current conditions and the sunrise sky come from MET Norway (CC BY 4.0). Our server collects them every 30 minutes, and the widget reads that file, so your visitors never contact a third-party service. Is the Madeira weather widget really free?

Yes. There is no fee and no sign-up. We only ask you to keep the credit link that is part of the code.

Will it slow down my website?

No. It loads lazily, after the rest of your page, uses no third-party scripts and downloads about 3 KB of weather data.

Does the widget use cookies?

No. It sets no cookies and collects no personal data, so you do not need consent for it.

Can I change the size or the colours?

You can choose a light or a dark theme, and the width adapts to narrower spaces. If you need another format, write to us through the contact page.
